About this free tour
This free tour starts in front of Barcelona Cathedral and takes you through the Barcelona that, between the 11th and 15th centuries, became the centre of a major maritime empire. A historian guide will take you through the streets that saw the great Catalan merchants rise, the Gothic churches that still stand tall, and the corners where craft guilds gave life to the city. You'll discover the Cathedral and its Gothic Seu, the Palau Reial Major and the Ribera district, where the merchant bourgeoisie left an indelible mark.
