It all began with a father and son walking through the Gothic Quarter. As they walked, the father (a historian by training and by vocation) explained how what looked like a simple square was actually the old Roman forum of Barcino. And how that narrow street had been the decumanus maximus of the 1st-century Roman colony.
The son, passionate about digital communication, thought: "Everyone should get to hear this story."
That's how Authentic Barcelona was born: with the conviction that the best way to love a city is to truly understand it. Not the postcard version, nor the headlines of tourist guides, but the full story, with its light and its shadows, its unsung heroes and its painful chapters.

A historian specialised in Barcelona's cultural heritage, with over two decades studying and teaching the city's history. He has taken part in archaeological digs in the Gothic Quarter and collaborated with museums and cultural centres across Barcelona.

A specialist in digital communication and search positioning. He grew up listening to his father's stories and learned to love Barcelona through them. His job is to make those stories accessible to everyone, as honestly and simply as possible.
